Radar

AI that reads your new Telegram messages and tells you which ones matter to you.

What Radar does

Radar reads every new Telegram message in the chats you import and decides, from a short description you write about your work, whether it matters to you. It judges by meaning, not keywords, so "can we get a quote for 7 seats" counts even if you never wrote the word quote.

Urgent messages get a desktop notification. Messages worth a look go to the Needs attention list in the top bar. Everything else stays quiet, so you can stop reading every chat to find the few that need you.

Turn on Radar

Radar uses Claude Haiku on your own Anthropic API key. You need the key before you start.

  1. 1
Add your Anthropic key. Open Settings, then AI, and paste your key. It stays in this browser and is never sent to Telebux.
  2. 2
Describe what matters. Open Settings, then Notifications, and find Radar. Write a few sentences about your work and the messages you want to hear about, or start from one of the examples.
  3. 3
Turn it on. Switch Radar on. It reads the chats in your Telebux Telegram import, including chats that join it later. Broadcast channels are skipped unless you include them, and you can exclude any chat.
  4. 4
Allow notifications. Allow browser notifications so urgent messages reach you, and send a test notification to check. To hear only about what matters, turn on Only notify me about relevant messages.

Tip. Radar runs while a Telebux tab is open. In Chrome, add Telebux to Settings, Performance, Memory Saver, Always keep these sites active, or install Telebux as an app.

Work through Needs attention

Open the target icon in the top bar to see what Radar flagged. Each item shows the chat, a short reason and the message. A red dot means urgent, an amber dot means worth a look.

Open chat takes you to the conversation. Dismiss clears the item. Not relevant clears it and records the miss on your device, and Radar can then suggest a small edit to your description so similar messages are skipped. Nothing changes until you accept the suggestion.

Radar sends at most one notification per chat every five minutes. Later matches from the same chat join the item that is already there.

Catch up on what you missed

When you come back after more than ten minutes away, Radar offers to scan the messages that arrived while Telebux was closed. You can also start it any time from the clock icon in the top bar.

  1. 1
Check the estimate. Radar counts the messages since you were last active, up to 24 hours back, and shows roughly how many there are and what checking them will cost. Counting costs nothing.
  2. 2
Choose what to scan. Scan everything, or only direct messages and mentions. Direct messages and mentions always go first, up to 5,000 messages per scan, and messages already in Needs attention are skipped.
  3. 3
Scan. Results land in Needs attention marked While you were away, with one summary notification. The scan never marks anything as read, and you can cancel it at any time.

Privacy and cost

Radar runs in your browser. Message text goes from your browser straight to Anthropic with your own key, and Telebux never receives your messages, your description, what Radar flags or what it costs. All of that is stored on the device.

You pay Anthropic directly at Claude Haiku rates. Radar shows this month's usage and estimated cost in its settings. Set a soft limit to batch messages less often, and a hard limit to pause Radar until next month.

Each device keeps its own Radar settings and list. Turn on Run Radar on this device in the one browser you want it to run in.
